Obligatory insurance against industrial accidents and occupational diseases
From 2004 on one of the basic directions of activity of Belgosstrakh has become the obligatory insurance against industrial accidents and occupational diseases introduced from January 1, 2004, by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated July 30, 2003, No. 18.
For practical implementation of this type of obligatory insurance, in 2003 Belgosstrakh had completely enforced all the necessary actions. In 2004 a significant volume of methodological work was fulfilled related to drafting the drafts of legislative instruments of the republican governmental authorities and local legislative instruments of the Company regulating the procedure of obligatory insurance against industrial accidents and occupational diseases.
For the purposes of execution of the obligation to make insurance payments to the victims, we have concluded respective contracts with Belpochta RUE, Belarusbank JSSB, Belpromstroibank OJSC, Belagroprombank OJSC, Belinvestbank OJSC, and Priorbank OJSC.
The normal practical activities on obligatory insurance against industrial accidents and occupational diseases, and obtaining corresponding results were promoted by a complex and systematic approach to organization of the work, which became possible thanks to the presence at the Belgosstrakh of the necessary material and technical base and well-trained personnel, and also due to applied technologies of Company’s management.
As of January 1, 2004, a total of 91,400 insured were registered, of them 63,400 legal entities and their detached subdivisions. During 2004, the registered insured had delivered to the detached subdivisions of the Belgosstrakh the documents in relation to 29,500 recipients of compensation of the damage caused to their health at work.
In 2004, under this type of insurance, we made almost 247,000 insurance payments to the total sum of 50 billion roubles.
